Growing up, or getting older?

I believe that one thing that greatly signifies us of getting older, is one simple question.

"Where do you live?"
So simple, right? Yet suddenly I feel bombarded by this question. And I realized it has slowly progressed and become more important, and I see no end in sight.

It starts with childhood, when you are on vacation and meet another kid at the pool- and your questions pretty much consist of "Whats your favorite color, animal, food, and movie." Maybe your name.
Then as you get older, you start asking the more serious questions. Like, "Who do you have for homeroom?"
In college, you ask WHERE you came form. Then, all the sudden, you get married. But it doesn't happen just then- it still takes some time. A kid, a change of scenery, maybe a nice car or something. Then all the sudden you walk into a new setting, church or something- and after the "are you knew? What are you here for? What are you doing?"--Not even a name, it comes. Like a heavy bag of rotten apples, "Where do you live". (Note: If you are ever asked this by a random passerby on the street, DO NOT ANSWER.)

Not that this is a bad thing, it just, is life. Getting older, maybe growing up. I can't decide which.
I just saw something on facebook today that said, "Getting older is necessary. Growing up is optional", I think- or something like that.

Suddenly, I realized- that now, wherever we move, I will be marked by where I live. It is a bit saddening, I suppose, as we fight already to keep our identity without the worlds influence, now we must mask our home's as well.

But it is life.
And I shall continue on.
