Christmas Time is here!

I am linking up with a bunch of other bloggers to talk about Christmas.
Because it is a FANTASTIC time of the year.

I have officially commanded that all radio stations be stuck on the Christmas channel.
Well, just our household.
Okay, well I haven't old Joe. It's a given.

But, anyways. For the last 2 days they have been having a radio-a-thon for the "adopt a family" program. It made me happy when they would report that all of the families of 8 had been adopted, or when all the elderly people had been adopted.

I was driving to the Children's Museum and had to turn the radio off when they announced that all they had left were 4 families. It made me happy. I wish people were this giving all year long. But I am happy that people still care.

Tonight we officially kicked off the Christmas season with our first festive event. The Lincoln's Children Museum had a "Holiday Spectacular" that included Christmas story readings, Ginger bread house making, and Santa!
In all reality, you had to pay for most things or get there really early to get a ticket.
But still, Sariah loves it there.
Except it was SUPER packed. And hot. And the toddler section that is meant for kids under 3 was filled with obnoxious 8 year old boys running around throwing balls everywhere.
Sorry, this is supposed to be a Christmas post.
By the way, Sariah wants to be a vet.

Anyways. It was a great evening, and it was wonderful to be together as a family doing something for Christmas.

An Ode to Rachel: How I Spent My Day

Apparently I have a fascinating blog.
And life with stories that makes everyone else envious of me and want to be like me. Right? That's how I heard it. Okay. Not exactly.
But anyways, this Is what I did today:
I read 100 blogs (well actually no. Since Joe has the computer, I couldn't because I don't have everyone's blog URLs memorized so I read like 2).
I drove around with a cat smelling stroller. Seriously. We left our stroller outside, and some cat decided to make it it's home. And it is NOT a pleasant smell, let me tell you.
I went to the dog park twice. TWICE PEOPLE!

I also went to a marsh.
And let me tell you about that. I specifically go to let the dogs off leash. No, I specifically go to let Scout run her heart out and have at least a smidgen less energy. But when I got there, these two girl were walking around. WHO DOES THAT? Two mid-twenty girls, arrive in a MINI VAN, and go on a walk-at a marsh- 5 miles outside of town. WHAT??? No one was pregnant. No dog. No elderly folks with them to bird watch (it is some sort of wildlife management area- making it ideal for Scout the bird dog). No. Just two girls. Having a walk. At a marsh. In Nebraska. It messed with my groove man. BIG TIME.

I also wet to the Children's Zoo. I like it there. But no fun stories.
Oh, except that the have a toddler size sink in the bathroom. And Sariah could have spent her whole day there. Seriously. Why play with trains, animals, or other stuff when you have an automatic sink?

And I ate chocolate pancakes. A McDonald's diet coke and apple pie. Dr. pepper from the museum. PB&J. Two string cheeses (because Sariah wouldn't eat hers' so I ate it for her), a few random wheat thins, some spaghetti and vegetables.
But no box of nerds. That would have helped.
Oh, and I tried to watch Rock-a-doodle with Sariah, because Netflix has it, but she didn't care.
Broke my achy-breaky-heart.

Sleep?

It is 8:52 pm, and Sariah is still awake.
I don't know why.
Maybe she swallowed a fly?

Today we ventured over to the Lincoln's Children Museum.
That place is SO COOL.
Sariah was in love. I was in love. It was a sad time to leave.
(Even sadder because we had to walk 3 blocks to our car. Oi.)

Also, I am participating in a giveaway! Ya, Ali over at Our Happily Ever After is hosting a giveaway for her birthday this week, and I am offering a $15 Gift Card to Barnes & Noble! So, go check it out here!
